Leadership. Ruby Rose from the beginning of the series is portrayed as awkward and flippant at the beginning of the series. She's acts in the moment with little thought on how those actions reflect on her or the people around her. Her first few scenes with Weiss really display this when she accidentally knocks over Weiss' luggage and gets into an argument about when Weiss is angry with her instead of apologizing. Or again once she's named the leader of Team RWBY and goofs off, doodles or falls asleep in class which causes Weiss to become upset with her again. Claiming it was a mistake that Ruby was made leader in the first place. This is the first sign of Ruby acknowledging that she may have made mistakes and questions whether Weiss was right about her being made leader. She asks the headmaster of the school whether it was an actual mistake and he offers the advice that being a leader is a heavy responsibility and if she isn't acting at her best then how can she expect the people that follow her to do the same. She takes this to heart and afterwards is shown making more of an effort to study and act and be more considerate of the feelings of the people around her.

Ruby's empathy and caring for others is on full display when Oscar confronts her with his doubts about the mission ahead of him. She bears the brunt of his insecurities when he lashes out at her being lighthearted when he's never been more afraid. She admits that she's also afraid of what they might come across along the way but that she's more worried about what might happen if they did nothing. She explains that she's had friends die because they tried to make a difference and failed or were to be murdered to set an example. She says claims that if those friends were still around that they would have continued on and kept fighting, so that's what she does. She comforts Oscar in saying that he's braver than he thinks considering the fact that he's still there trying to make a difference despite his fears.

(2+) Negative Experiences:

Midway through the series it's revealed that Ruby's mentor and the one who had guided her through the first half of the series had been lying about the nature of their mission and the fact that he did not have a grand plan on how to complete it like he had always claimed to. From here Ruby starts to form issues when it comes to trusting others people in similar positions of power. When the group arrives in Atlas they reunite with James Ironwood who earlier had generally been an ally but had been started showing more overt signs of being paranoid military dictator. The boarders into Atlas have been closed, he's set up curfews and there is a strong military presence in both the city of Atlas and Mantle.

When Ruby actually discusses this with him, he claims it's for a good cause and that he plans on reuniting the world once a new communication tower has been built. The current strife is just a small price to pay for a larger goal. Ruby isn't sure at first whether to trust him at his word from what she's seen so she with holds information that could cause him to panic or change his plans until she knows that she can trust him.

Their relationship sways back on forth on a delicate balance as complications arise in their plan that cause Ironwood to put more pressure on his people to get the communication tower built. This comes to a head when Ironwood is put into a position where he finally has to step up and protect the people of his kingdom and decides she can trust him with the full truth of their situation. This backfires almost immediately when this late revelation causes Ironwood's trust in Ruby and their cause is shattered. The two quickly devolve from unsteady allies to enemies as their goals and mission just don't align.

Canon Update Notes

Update from end of Volume 7 to End of Volume 8

- Ruby and Yang argue and split the party because of how things went with Ironwood.
- Ironwood tries to threaten Ruby and Penny to join up with him again by saying everything that happens will be their fault if they don't.
- Ruby and co manage to get Amity Tower going and deliver a message warning the world about Salem.
- Ruby fights an awful Hound monster that turns out be a silver eyed person Salem experimented on.
- Ruby realizes her mom was probably turned into one of those awful Hound monster things when she was little.
- The gang gets back together and forms a plan to get the people of Mantle onto Atlas so everyone can escape.
- Ironwood literally starts to shoot down that plan and threatens to bomb the people of Mantle unless Ruby and Penny cooperate with him.
- The gang come up with a new plan to take down Ironwood and get everyone to safety.
- The gang's plan comes together pretty well! Penny is made human and they use the Staff of Creation to make a portals a magic portal road from Mantle and Atlas to a whole separate country.
- The magic genie in the staff tells them not to fall off the path on the magic portal road.
- Cinder and Neo show up in the middle of the evacuation to thwart the plan. Cinder knocks all of Team RWBY, Neo and Jaune off the path.
- Oh and Penny dies but Ruby doesn't actually see that.


CRAU

January
- Ruby arrives in Deerington on the Titanic.
- She thinks she's a server in the kitchen. She meets Ange and Sally Sparrow while doing this!
- Ruby spills spaghetti on Weiss.
- Ruby meets Luna Lovegood at a low class party they dance and it's cute.
- Ruby and Amara launch themselves onto Godzilla and fail to do any sort of damage. They do their best to never speak of this again.

February

- Ruby gets a mind control bug in her back and shoots Weiss. Penny arrives and does surgery to remove it.
- Pyrrha shows up and finds out she's dead back home. Ruby is recovering with Penny who Pyrrha killed and Weiss is freaked out because she had to kill a zombie Pyrrha months ago. It's not a swell time for the group.
- Ange and Ruby kill a version of the witch Beatrice from Ange's world
- Ruby hears about Reaper from Weiss and decides that he's a cool guy and decides to message him. Reaper turns out to not be the nicest guy around and brushes her off.
- Reaper shows up to be really threatening and menacing to Ruby while they're in Bioshock land.
- Ruby meets Chloe Price who throws up on her shoes. Ruby proceeds to call her vomit girl until the end of her days.

March
- Neo arrives and tries to murder Ruby.
- It's Ruby's first month in actual Deerington and the townspeople are being nice. She decides to give them a chance. (This is a mistake.)
- Luna Lovegood goes crazy cultist and tries to murder a person. Ruby shows up to stop her. Luna tries to do a double murder instead and Ruby ends up fighting her off.
- Ruby meets Peter Graham while they both slack off at school.
- Ruby and Yang pet chickens.
- Neo takes swing two at murdering Ruby. Drugs her with cultist tea and helps them set her up in a burning building. She is saved by Sailor Mars.
- Ruby breaks into Darth Maul's home and eats his food under the influence of the Gluttony sin from the month before.
- Gluttony sin gets her to break into Maul's home and eat snacks. They start to become friends from here.

April
- Ruby comforts and makes amends with Luna over the cultist murder attempt. She has experience with hurting friends here.
- Has big cries with Ange and Chloe. More the first time she's been open about her situation back in her own world.
- Turns into a kid for awhile plays with Bo Peep, Woody, Kid Maul, Amara.
- Reaper saves her from spider's in the forest.
- She saves Neo from spider's in the forest. This doesn't put them on better terms.

May
- Clover arrives in Deerington! Ruby is unaware that he is dead back in their world and he lies about the fact that he is.
- Emerald arrives. Ruby and her start to form an uneasy alliance.
- Qrow arrives in game moves in to the RWBY House.
- Luna and Ruby fight Orcs. Both of them push themselves way too hard and flop around terribly trying to help one another.
- Neo tries to bury Ruby alive with the Leitner dig book. Shenanigans ensue and Ruby lives again.

June
- Ruby tells Mother Superior off on the network before the July event begins. Tells her one day she'll need to be forgiven.
- Ruby and Emerald save each other from the vines in the forest maze.
- Ruby and Yang make it to the center of he maze and relieve some sweet childhood memories.
- Rei and Ruby fight a giant centipede and make it very dead.
- Ruby throws a book at Glitch in the library. They argue.
- Neo reveals to the network that she wants to murder Ruby. Then back tracks a little on this after they talk about the Mother Superior situation.

July
- Ruby gets canon updated to end of volume 7.
- Get's thrown into a confessional with Neo. Neo admits that she's close to forgiving Ruby for what happened but is afraid this town might force her to act on those vengeful thoughts.
- Ruby realizes that Clover is dead back home and blames herself for this. Finds out he has a thing for Qrow and takes him into a hardware store for a literal shovel talk.
- Basically all of Ruby's friends at one point or another attack and scar her for life. :) It's fine. Peter Graham, Chloe.
- Ruby and Glitch get stuck in a murder maze together. They actually bond a little over this.
- Neo goes by dangan rompa blood and murders Ruby.
- Ruby and Oscar try to make lasagna and Ruby bungles it up.

August
- Ruby and Yang chill out at the concert. Get turned into kids and tell the network how great their uncle.
- Participates in the Mayor Mini Event.
- Ruby participates in the expedition up to the lab that Adam planned. Falls down a hole with Glitch and doesn't make it to the top.
- Her and Neo start to actually reconcile their grudge.
- Ozpin shows up injured from monsters of the month. Ruby helps him out but they are on uneasy standing with one another.

September
- Ruby promises to train Glitch so they don't run into the same situation the month before.
- Ruby participates in flowers for Cynthia mini event. Uses the Relic of Knowledge to learn more about how Cynthia feels about Sodder and loses the memories of her connection to her mom in the process.

October
- Oscar injures his leg. Ruby and Ozpin help him recover.
- Turns into a deer briefly
- A good number of Ruby's loved ones die. She holds the creepiest birthday party for herself in the church with creepy dolls set up. Ange, Eda, Glitch And Oscar all think this is an incredibly unhealthy way to cope.

November.
- Yang returns to Deerington and things are tense between the two of them due to devolving situations back in canon land.
December
- Yang and Ruby get into a car accident together. They make up for argument the month before.
- Ruby nearly freezes in the winter snow once or twice. Ange helps her out and they go back to Ange's to cuddle for warmth.
- She dresses up as Santa and sneaks around stealing cookies.

January
- Has a talk with Ozpin on the beach. Finds a toy that belonged to his daughter and returns it to him. The two start to reconcile their in canon differences.
- Ruby goes on a friend dates with Pyrrha and Usagi.
- Ironwood shows up and Ruby and him start a long period of walking on eggshells with one another.
- Ruby meets Bill Cipher and makes a deal with him where he will solve any puzzles for her if she fights for him.
- Ruby eats Ange's room service food and Ange opens up about her life back in her world.
- Ruby does sick skateboard tricks on a luggage cart with Vyng.
- The most awkward elevator talk with Reaper in the world. The two are starting to get along more now.
- Emerald hallucinates that Cinder Fall is in town while in the hotel, backslides horribly and Ruby gets her eye cut out in the process.

February
- Ruby and Ange get caught in a time loop and get run over by an ice cream truck multiple times.
- Ruby participates in Bill's attempt to shake up the system. She's not on her game from the missing eye thing.
- Bill turns her against Ironwood when everything goes to heck because of the deal she had made. Ironwood knocks her out and they get out alive.
- Ozpin dies and ends up inhabiting Ruby's head. She helps him with his love life with Ford and he makes her first date with Ange super awkward.
- Ruby and Ange become a couple

March
- Robot eye gets installed at the beginning of the month.
- Ruby ends up chained up with Emerald. The two of them start to reconcile after the eye loss
- Salem arrives in game. Kidnaps her. Kills Glitch. Turns her into the Hound.
- As the Hound Ruby attacks and bites off Oscar's leg.
- Between killing Salem, some help from Luz and finding her own sanity she manages to break free of the Grimm juice that made her the hound and turns back to normal.

Chapter 2 Attributes

• Canon Powers: Semblance

Taken from RWBY Wiki. "Semblance is the manifestation of one's innate and personal power as an ability unique to each individual, with the effects varying greatly from user to user." Ruby's Semblance, Petal Burst, Ruby can use her Semblance to separate herself and anyone she is touching at the molecular level, turn into rose petals and move at inhuman speeds that are nearly too fast for the eye to catch. She uses this ability in combat to dodge attacks, disorient enemies, hastily retreat and quickly counterattack. Her Semblance is also capable of providing limited flight capabilities.

Aura

Taken from the wiki again "Aura is the manifestation of one's soul in the RWBY universe, and can be used for a wide range of abilities." Ruby's Aura coats her body in a shield and protect her when unlocked. Also able to slowly regenerate wounds

Silver Eyes

Ruby's unique eyes have the ability to let loose a blinding flash of light that can either petrify or vaporize the Creatures of Grimm where she is from. She is aware of how this ability works but cannot fully control it yet.

Crescent Rose

Ruby's Scythe. It is capable of transforming into a high caliber sniper rifle. Shots can be fired from either Scythe or Sniper Rifle form. It has three forms. Scythe, Rifle, and a compact storage form. It can be loaded with various different types of magical ammunition to produce other effects.

Combat

Ruby uses a combination of her speed and weapon to great effect in battle. Attacking at both close and long range while never staying in one place for very long. She is incredibly reliant on this style of fighting though. She possesses minimal hand to hand fighting skills and is only just learning to hold her own without her weapon in hand.

• Blood Power Manifestation: Ruby's blood powers are going to enhance/change her canon abilities. I'll list here how they'll change!

• Semblance: Instead of turning into rose petals she will either change either into a bolt of lightning, a fireball, or hail until she reforms. It will basically operate the same but more offensive based than utility. I'm thinking she'll only be able to carry other cold bloods with her when she does this or it'll have stranger effects depending on the blood type carried with her.

• Aura: It will now manifest as either fire, ice, or electricity. So she can now set herself on fire! Encase herself in ice! Or make her hair get all frazzled and zap someone! The healing will basically just crystalize the blood faster.

• Silver Eye(s) (She lost one of these.): This will still be emotion based but will manifest differently based on the element used. She will either flash burn, freeze, or stun anything caught in the flash of light.
